Tailored Certificates

Thursday, 15 May 2014

Students and working professionals wishing to deepen their knowledge in a particular field of international affairs may choose any course or combination of courses based on their particular interests, and earn a certificate specifying the courses completed.

Our graduate course offering covers various aspects of international relations and diplomacy, such as environmental politics, gender and militarization, foreign policy formulation, geopolitics of religion, economic policy issues, terrorism and international affairs, and international law, as well as those featured in the regular certificate programs (NGO management and area studies).

All courses taught in English, and accredited in the US through Arcadia University, PA.

Each course conists of one weekly three-hour session over 13 weeks, taking place at the American Graduate School, in central Paris.

As a student enrolled in a certificate program at AGS, you also have access to the online academic resources available through the Arcadia University portal (JSTOR, LexisNexis, Sage Premier, Columbia International Affairs Online, and other resources), and to the events organized by AGS (Wine and cheese evennings, guest talks, etc.), making you a full member of the AGS student community.

Note that these programs are best suited to students or professionals already residing in Paris, since part-time programs in France do not grant eligibility for a student visa. However, it is possible to combine several courses in order to reach a full-time status (three or four courses). Please contact our Academic Coordinator for more information about this: academics@ags.edu.
